WhatsApp Update - EDIT INSTEAD OF DELETING..!

WhatsApp has updated its feature by making users to edit their messages that has sent with mistakes or errors. The Edit features has begun to be rolled out to users worldwide and is now available, you may now modify your sent messages if you make a mistake or simply change your mind. We're delighted to provide you more control over your conversations, from fixing a minor mistake to adding further context to a message.

All you have to do is long press on a sent message and select 'Edit' from the menu for up to fifteen minutes. Edited messages will have the word 'edited' alongside them, so others you're addressing are aware of the change without seeing the edit history. Your messages and the adjustments you make, like all personal communications, media, and calls, are safeguarded by end-to-end encryption.

EDIT INSTEAD OF DELETING:

Instead of deleting the message you have sent with mistakes, you can edit the message within 15 minutes from sent time. The edit option won’t work after 15 minutes from the time of message sent.

“From controlling a simple misspelling to adding extra context to a message, we’re excited to bring you more control over your chats,”- statement said by WhatsApp.

HOW TO EDIT A WHATSAPP MESSAGE:

Here's how to utilize WhatsApp's new edit message feature after it's been updated:

  • Select and hold the message you wish to modify. This will highlight the message and offer a contextual menu.
  • On iOS, select "Edit" from the menu.
  • On Android, find the three-dot menu in the upper right corner of the screen and press it to access the menu.

  • You will be sent to a text area where you may make modifications to the selected message. 
  • In the text area, enter the new message you wish to send. 
  • Once you've made the required changes to your message, touch the green check mark button next to the text field. This will save your changed message.
  • When a message is modified, WhatsApp marks it with the label "edited." This allows both the sender and the recipient to be aware of the changes being made to the original message.
