Mark Zuckerberg’s New Launch:
Instagram Threads will be launched on July
6, 2023. Threads is a social media platform created by Instagram parent company
meta, where the user will be able to publish post, and shorts contain 500 characters.
In post and shorts, we can add link, image, and video (within 5 minutes limit).
10 million users have joined threads just within 7 hours from its launch and being
trending in twitter currently.
Terms & Conditions
Threads will follow the same terms of
service as Instagram since they are both under Meta. This means that users over
the age of 13 can use the app.
Can I use threads without Instagram?
It will give access only by integrating an
existing Instagram username to sign up. Users not having Instagram account, must
create one to get the access of Threads platform.
Biggest issue for the users:
Since the app is in its initial stage, the
biggest problem for its users is that they can’t delete their Threads profile or
data without deleting their Instagram account.
The Threads platform’s FAQ page says, “You
can always delete individual posts. To delete your Threads profile and data,
you’ll need to delete your Instagram account,”.
Compatible with Interoperable Networks
Soon, Meta is planning to make Threads
compatible with Activity Pub, the open social networking protocol
established by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the body responsible for
the open standards that power the modern web. This would make Threads
interoperable with other apps that also support the Activity Pub
protocol, such as Mastodon and WordPress – allowing new types of connections
that are simply not possible on most social apps today. Other platforms
including Tumblr have shared plans to support the Activity Pub protocol
in the future.
